By Sarah Nelson, MD
Division of Neurocritical Care, Johns Hopkins University

Dr. Nelson recently published an Op-Med on Doximity.com in which she shares a time when she personally experienced gender bias. Her article acknowledges that women physicians are still subject to gender bias, but discusses the fact that women’s leadership and intelligence during the COVID-19 pandemic has truly been a silver lining of this worldwide crisis. Hopefully, the examples set by women can better permit us to tackle any similar crises in the future.
